Aberdeen Consult on Relaxation of General Extension Policy

08 Feb
2023

Aberdeen Licensing Board have launched a consultation in relation to any dates in 2023 that “may be suitable for the grant of a general extension for events of a local or national significance. This would include potential dates within the festive period as well as other significant dates throughout the year.”

Anyone wishing to make any suggestions or comments is invited to email  licensing@aberdeencity.gov.uk by Friday 24 March 2023  “together with a note of the reasons that suggested dates would be appropriate.”

We may start to see more of these consultations which may include in particular questions of whether to grant a general extension for the Coronation of King Charles III, as any extension granted by the Westminster government will not apply to Scotland, and the decision will be left to individual Licensing Boards.

We will keep you updated.
